On August the 7th 1996, a flash-flood affected a camping near Biescas in the Spanish Pyrenees producing extensive damage in terms of human life losses (more than eighty causalities). The flood was produced by an orographically forced storm that remained quasiestationary for more than one hour over the same area with high precipitation rates.

In this paper a study of the synoptic and mesoscale conditions of the event is presented as well as a detailed study of the convective cell features as seen by the Zaragoza radar.
