The widespread heavy rainfall and the associated large damage are two main properties of the storm that hit Egypt in the late night hours of 1 november and eraly morning hours of 2 november 1994. The synoptic situation associated with this storm, the lifecycle and the rainfall estimation by the use of satellite images by using Scofield/Oliver technique were the main purposes of this paper. The application of this technique depends on the use of half-hourly enhanced IR-and visible imagery. The verification of the estimation was discussed and showed after slight modification correlation coeficient 0.72. It recommended that different factors effecting the technique must be readjusted to be valid for application in Egypt.
