Clouds are the most related meteorological element to precipitation, which is the main source of water in our earth, in addition to many other phenomena. Cloud studies including cloud type, average age, origin, formation and movement are being carried out in Libya, as part of weather modification programs.
Mediterranean region is one of the complex formation places in type, age and movement in the world, that is why there is a need to make more researches in this subject and in all related aspects of cloud formation in this area, to study its effects, its ability in producing precipitation and its climatology in general.
The paper shows an informative idea about the length, width and lifetime of cloud bands in north Africa and Mediterranean region and define the cold and warm clouds in the Mediterranean area and their patterns.
