SHABBATIn this print we see the table set for the Friday evening meal. The candles are lit to welcome in Shabbat. The plaited challah and glass of wine are in place, as is the prayer book from which the blessings are read. A portion from the Torah is read every Shabbat in synagogue and so this too is represented here.
