Over the years, we have built up a collection of over 700 paintings, drawings, prints and sculpture by Jewish artists, selections from which are shown regularly at our gallery in London's West End. Amongst the artists represented are David Bomberg, Mark Gertler, Reuven Rubin, Frank Auerbach, Leon Kossoff, and R. B. Kitaj. Some of our holdings are available for loan to Jewish communal organisations.
We also organise exhibitions of the work of Jewish artists, lectures, concerts and visits to other galleries. Details of our forthcoming events and exhibitions are given below. The Ben Uri maintains an index of Jewish artists and an archive which can be referred to by researchers and students. In addition, reproductions of all our works are stored on CD Rom so they can be viewed by our visitors even when the works are not on show.
We are open Monday-Thursday 10am to 5pm and Sundays during exhibitions 2-5pm. We are closed on Jewish Holidays, Bank holidays and Fridays and Saturdays.
Several of the works in the Ben Uri Collection show scenes of Jewish ritual, and for those unable to visit the gallery, a selection can be viewed here.
