[About The Guide]
Files
The files in the package
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Expand Library for Clipper 5.01 is distributed in Disk form or
archived via Bulletin Board Systems (Evaluation versions only!). Anyhow,
the package received should contain the following Files:
EXPAND.LIB
The Expand Library. Just link with your Applications or use EXPAND.LNK
discussed below.
EXPAND.NG
The Expand library documentation in Norton Guide form. There is no
documentation in printed form, as the electronical version is much
easier to use, and any attempt to stop the flow of paper is a good one..
EXPAND.LNK
Blinker respone file. See the file itself for details. It makes it
possible to use the Library optimized for speed/size.
XPDEMO.ARJ:
This archive contains the Full demonstration of the Library, it contains:
XP*.PRG The several .PRG files making up the Expand Library
demonstration program. XPMAIN.PRG is the Main
module.
XPRTL.BAT A batch file to generate the Demo program, using
.RTlink.
XPBLI.BAT A batch file to generate the Demo program, using
Blinker.
XPDEMO.RMK A make file to be used with Nantucket's RMAKE. the
batch files call RMAKE with this file.
XPDEMO.PCX This is PCX file for EGA, which is used as a demo
of the XPfastPCX() function.
The Demo programs generated is XPDEMO.EXE, and uses XPDEMO.PCX,
E|VGAFONTS.DBF when required/available. The Demo programs also fully
supports a Mouse, so install yours when you've got one.
See the Demo program as a Demo program only. It's not really
a well designed and useful program, it simply demonstrates
the use of most functions.
XPNGDEMO.ARJ:
This archive contains a few NG*.PRG files, NGBLI.BAT and NGRTL.BAT,
for creating the demo programs. They demonstrate the usage of the
Special Norton Guide routines of the Library.
READ.ME
This file will generally contain some last minute information. So, do
read the information contained therein.
The following files are not necessarily in the archive, but should be
on the disk:
Furthermore, the archive VGAFONTS.ARJ contains an updated collection
of VGA text mode fonts to be used with the XPloadFont() and relating
functions. Also, some PCX files may or may not be supplied, for Demo
purposes. I finally dropped the EGAFONTS, but quite some might still
be found in the CLPFONTS archive.
The file PCXFILES.ARJ contains some PCX files that the XPfastPCX()
may display, just to give you an impression of it's usage.
When an update is placed on the BBS, the Norton Guide is not necessarily
updated, the changes are rather documented in the READ.ME file. This
not to increase too much the size of the Archive to eventually download.
