Remote Desktop for Mobiles Server - Connections

In this section are present the short review of several variants of connections the Client to the Server for one or several single computers and computers in a local network.

This variant most of all match for home or office computers with direct access to Internet (having an dedicated Internet IP address). It is necessary to open TCP port 6100 (default the Server port) on personal firewall or built-in Windows XP firewall so that the Client can access to the Server on remote computer.

If one or several computers in local network (internal organization network) have an access to Internet through common firewall or router, it is necessary to open a port 6100 on these devices for access to the Server from Internet. Also, the computers in local network should be directly accessible from Internet. A computers must have an dedicated Internet IP addresses, or translating Internet address to local computer address.

The Server can operate as proxy server in local network. If a local network has a separate proxy server for providing an access from local computers to Internet and local computers can't accessible from Internet directly, in this case it's possible to use the Remote Desktop for Mobiles Server in a proxy mode as gate for providing an access from the Client to destination computers. A proxy server must have a two IP addresses (two interfaces), one for local network and one for Internet. A proxy server will be translating all requests from the Clients to computers in local network. A proxy server should be directly accessible from Internet and default server port 6100 must be open on firewall and routers.
