Installation Information for Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE 2000) Service Pack 3a

To begin installing MSDE 2000 SP3a:

  1. Insert the Delphi 2005 Disk 3 into your CD-ROM drive and navigate to the MSDE folder.
  2. In the MSDE folder, execute msdesp3a.exe to unpack the files to the folder of your choice (by default, sql2ksp3).
  3. In the folder created in step 2, locate sp3readme.htm, which contains the installation instructions for MSDE 2000 SP3a.
  4. Follow the instructions in sp3readme.htm to run setup.exe in the MSDE folder. You must run setup.exe from the command prompt and specify parameters to install or upgrade any instance of MSDE, as described in sp3readme.htm.
    5. Note: The information about merge modules in sp3readme.htm is incorrect. There are no merge modules distributed with msdesp3a.exe on Disk 3.
