Poster_Board

The POSTER BOARD component transforms a subtree so that it faces the camera.

How Does It Work?

POSTER BOARD rotates any texture subtree hooked to it's Background parameter so that it faces the camera.  If you have the 2D Pattern button checkbox enabled, POSTER BOARD will also zero out the Z dimension essentially changing the texture subtree to 2D.

Hints!

POSTER BOARD is a specialized component designed specifically for special effects that require the texture to face the camera.  A good example of where this would be useful is in writting a non-photorealistic sketch shader.  For this task, it is important that your sketch strokes face the camera.

When using POSTER BOARD within another 3D package, you are likely to see a warping distortion caused by the camera's field of view.  You can avoid this warping by using a orthographic camera (if available).
