Need help finding the right utility? Try Seagate's Disc Drive Utility Selection Assistant - Designed to help you find the correct installation or diagnostic utility for your Seagate hard disc drive.

Windows Drivers
For information on Windows drivers, please visit our FAQ on Windows drivers and Seagate hard drives.

DiscWizard Program Suite

 Windows

Seagate simplifies installation of Seagate ATA and SCSI drives as additional storage with its exclusive Windows-based disc drive installation program. This software also overcomes certain legacy BIOS and operating system limitations that can complicate the installation of higher-capacity ATA (IDE) interface drives. DiscWizard Suite includes DiscWizard Starter Edition, a DOS based program, to help build a new single drive system and a copy of the SeaTools diagnostic utility.

SeaTools Disc Diagnostic

DOS

Diagnostic utility software that helps determine whether system problems are drive-based or due to some other hardware or software problem. SeaTools is designed to reduce drive returns, decrease drive repair costs, and protect data.

The physical tests of SeaTools are data-safe and compatible with all PC operating systems. SeaTools Disc Diagnostic uses its own bootable floppy and is therefore compatible with any PC with a 386 or greater processor and 8 Mbytes of memory.

The FAT32 file structure tests of SeaTools are compatible with Windows XP, Me, 2000, 98 and 95. If you are running Windows XP, 2000, NT or OS/2, SeaTools will not test NTFS or HPFS partitions.

Ultra ATA/100 Configuration Utility

NA

Seagate Ultra ATA/33/66/100 drives can be configured for Ultra ATA modes up to and including the maximum the drive is capable of. Use this utility to select or to verify a compatible Ultra ATA mode for your drive and system. Expand this download file (self-extracting) and copy to a DOS bootable floppy.

CAUTION: Improper use of this utility could render your drive inoperable, please read the UATA100 FAQ before downloading.

Seagate Desk Reference
Windows
Windows based hypertext data system for all Seagate products. Specifications and jumper settings for ALL drives (including Imprimis and Conner Peripherals). Seagate controller and host adapters, troubleshooting, glossary, other OEM phone numbers and much, much more. A must for dealers who do a fair amount of support for Seagate products. This is what we use in our own tech support department.

Specs and Jumpers
DOS
Text files of specifications and jumper settings for ALL Seagate drives. This anthology collection includes ALL interfaces. (Individual files for each interface are also available, see ftp://ftp.seagate.com/techsuppt/anthologies/). Here is a useful TrueType font for Windows called Letter Gothic Line that correctly displays the Line drawing characters we use for the jumpers.

NFDisc v1.2
DOS
Provides information about the Partition Table record stored on the boot track of each hard disc drive. NFDisc displays this information with an emphasis on the Cylinder, Head and Sector parameters that were used in creating the tables. Optional save of sector data to a file for later reference.

ASPI-ID v1.5
DOS
A Mode Sense and Inquiry utility for SCSI interface disc drives. Detailed information about each of the mode pages is given along with a SCSI Inquiry report. This program operates through the standard ASPI device driver supplied by the SCSI host adapter manufacturer. This program can tell you more about your SCSI drive and its current operating parameters. Optional save of Mode Sense data to a file for later reference. Very detailed documentation provided.

CGREEN v2.1
DOS
This utility was written to allow DOS and Windows users to manipulate some of the power management features, also know as "green" features incorporated into certain models of Seagate ATA (IDE) interface hard drives. These green features allow the drive to be placed either automatically or manually into varying levels of power saving operational modes where the drive will spin down during periods of inactivity.
