Xara Webster - Using a Bitmap to Fill Objects

Filled bitmap

You can use any of the bitmaps in the Bitmap Gallery or the Clipart Gallery to fill an object. You can also import a bitmap and use it as a fill.

Bitmaps in the Bitmap Gallery

  1. Open the Bitmap Gallery.
  2. Scroll down until you see the bitmap you want.
  3. Drag and drop the bitmap onto the center of the object.

Remember you can only fill solid objects, not lines.

Bitmaps in the Clipart Gallery

  1. Open the Clipart Gallery. There is a wide range of suitable bitmaps in the Textures sections.
  2. Click on the bitmap you want.
  3. Click the Import button at the top of the Gallery. This imports the bitmap into the document and makes it available in the Bitmap Gallery.
  4. You can now delete the imported bitmap. (Use Delete on the Edit menu.) Until you quit Webster, the bitmap remains available in the Bitmap Gallery.
  5. You can now fill the object as described above. The bitmap is saved with the document and you can use it again in the future.

Importing a bitmap

  1. Using Import on the File menu, import the bitmap into the drawing. This also makes it available in the Bitmap Gallery.
  2. You can now delete the imported bitmap. (Use Delete on the Edit menu.) Until you quit Webster, the bitmap remains available in the Bitmap Gallery.
  3. You can now fill the object as described above. The bitmap is saved with the document and you can use it again in the future.
