Xara Webster - Adding Clipart to the Clipart Gallery

 With the Clipart Gallery you can easily browse all the clipart on the Xara web site. You can also add folders of your own clipart to the Clipart Gallery. The Clipart Gallery will automatically create thumbnail versions of your drawings so you can see them in the gallery. You can add any files to the Clipart Gallery as long as the format is supported by Xara Webster.

To add a folder of clipart to the clipart gallery
  1. Copy the clipart files into a folder.
  2. From the Utilities menu, choose Clipart Gallery.
  3. Click the Disc Clipart button to open the Add Folder dialog box.
  4. Browse until you reach the folder.
  5. Click Add.
Xara Webster creates thumbnails for each of your files in a directory called XaraInfo inside your clipart folder. If Xara Webster cannot create the XaraInfo directory in this folder, it will be created in your Temporary Folder.

Once you have added a folder of clipart to the Clipart Gallery, you can update it to take account of any new files you have added to the folder and any changes you have made to your drawings. If any images have changed or been added, their thumbnails will be recreated.

To update the clipart gallery

  1. From the Utilities menu, choose Clipart Gallery.
  2. Click the Disc Clipart button to open the Add Folder dialog box.
  3. Browse to the folder you want to update.
  4. Click the Update button.

  • You can add keywords, titles and descriptions to your Xara clipart which will be used by the Clipart Gallery. Click here for more details.
