Preferences Special Notes Page

Purpose

Special notes are messages containing substitution strings which are sent as part of an OfficeTalk function, for example, when inviting an OfficeTalk user to a meeting or assigning a project task to a non-OfficeTalk user. OfficeTalk lets you specify the message sent out when performing each function.

Certain substitution strings are available so that you may design the messages to be context specific.

The following substitution objects are available:

User

Meeting

Task

ProjectTask

You may display any field value of any of these objects by formatting a substitution string as follows:

<@object.field name>

For example, to display the start time of a meeting in one of the meeting related special notes, specify the following substitution string:

<@Meeting.Start Time>

The Meeting object will only be available from within meeting related special notes. Similarly, the Task object will only be available from within Task assignment related special notes. The User object is available from within all special notes. It represents the sender of the related mail message.

Usage

From the drop down list, select the special note that you wish to change. Enter the body of the special note into the window below. Use the format bar at the top of the page to add style, size and colour to your text.
