Group Page

Purpose

This page lets you choose how to group data in the associated list.

Usage

Grouping data is similar to sorting except every time the value of the column, by which you are grouping, changes, a group header is inserted.

To group by a particular column, select the column from the Field drop down list. Specify also whether you wish to group by sorting in an ascending or descending fashion.

Typically when you group, a group header is inserted whenever the column value changes from one value to another. You may specify in more detail when to insert group headers and you can do this by creating your own group ranges. For example, you may wish to group a list alphabetically into items in the range A-M and N-Z. You can do this by pressing the Edit Ranges… button and following the instructions in the Group Range Wizard.
