Separating solids

You can separate all disconnected parts of a solid, or parts that only touch at a vertex. The composite solid cannot share a common area or volume. After separation, these parts become individual solids.

You can create a solid with disconnected parts in several ways: 1) by combining two solids that are not overlapping; 2) by using the Subtract command to split a solid into multiple disconnected pieces; or 3) by using the Intersect command.
