Scheduling Overview

With the Scheduler feature, you can automatically run your submissions and Rankings. These Tasks can be created to run one time or repeatedly.

Scheduling: OFF
Once you have some Tasks Scheduled, you can turn the Scheduler on here and let AddWeb take over. You will also see the list of Tasks here and exactly what they will be doing. So, let's get to creating your first Task. Click on the New button.

Editing Existing and creating New Tasks

To create a Task, first you must supply a unique name. Something like 'My Website Ranking Task' should do fine. If you find you are using a large number of Tasks, you may want to be more specific.

You will then want to decide When the Task should run. Select a date and time to Start this task on.

If you want to repeat the Task, select how often by a Daily, Weekly or Monthly Schedule. Otherwise, Tasks will run once by default.

Repeating Tasks have a great deal of flexibility in when you want them to run. If the scheduling times are not clear, please read the Detailed Documentation for Scheduling.

You will also want to assign a Profile (or group of Profiles) to the Task and decide what the Task should do. Select the Profile (or group of Profiles) by clicking on the Select button.

It is also suggested that you include all Tasks in the Master Report so you can see the history of your completed Tasks in the Scheduler Log.

Scheduling: ON

When you turn the Scheduler ON, any Task Scheduled prior to the current Date/Time will run automatically when the Scheduler is turned on. You will not be able to navigate to other sections of AddWeb until you turn OFF the Scheduler.

The Active Scheduler will run Tasks as the Scheduled time arrives. The Tasks will always run in Scheduled order until they are up to date.

If a Task is old enough that the next time it should run is still in the past, once it completes, it will be scheduled to the next occurrence in the future.

Two buttons are visible while the Scheduler is ON that are not visible otherwise. These buttons allow you to force a Task to Run Now or Stop the currently active Task from completing.

Also note that you can force a repeating Task to the next scheduled occurrence. For instance, if it is scheduled to run every week on Friday at 3pm and that is today, clicking on Skip to Next Occurrence will reschedule it to next Friday at 3pm.
