The Ranking feature is a very powerful tool that tells you where you stand on various search engines.
Ranking Setup
To Perform a Profile Rank, just select it from the list and click on the Rank button up top. All of the settings involved, other than selecting the search engines to rank on, are already decided in the Profile Setup.
Performing a Quick Rank is nearly as easy. Enter a URL with matching unique text from the Title, select relevant keywords and the search engines you want to run the ranking on, then click the Rank button up top.
The Search Depth tells AddWeb how many results you want to scan from each search engine. The higher this number is, the more work your computer will have to do to gather results. AddWeb gathers all of the results for the full Search Depth so it can provide you with greater detail in the Ranking Reports.
Ranking Process
While the Ranking is being performed, you will be able to see what kind of results you are getting for your website. Due to the In-Depth nature of Ranking, there are a number of different results you can view for each keyword. You will not be able to navigate to other sections of AddWeb while Ranking is being performed.
Show Me
When Ranking Position is selected, you can find out what position you are in on the various search engines.
When Ranking Page Number is selected, you can find out what page you first show up in on the various search engines. The first 3 pages are where the most traffic will come from.
When Link Count is selected, you will see how many times a search engine finds your website linked to from another website.
When URL Count is selected, you will see how often your website appears in each search engine.
Current Keyword
Select a keyword in the list and you will see the results for that keyword. AddWeb will continue through the list of keywords until it gets the results for all of them. When it is finished getting results for a keyword on one search engine, it will start gathering results for the next keyword and you will likely see the progress bar moving on more than one keyword at a time.
