Adding Text to a Leader

There are two ways to create leader text with AutoCAD LT. You can enter text on the command line, or you can create paragraphs of text using the Multiline Text Editor dialog box. With paragraph text, you can apply formatting to individual words or letters. You can also append copies of existing annotation to a leader.

Text is placed automatically at the endpoint of the leader, at the specified offset. You specify this offset in the DDIM Annotation dialog box under Text Gap. Feature control frames also are placed automatically at the endpoint of the leader. Blocks are inserted at the location, scale, and rotation you specify.

Use the Vertical Justification options in the DDIM Format dialog box to align the annotation vertically with the leader. In the following illustration, the vertical justification option used is Above.

To create a box around the text, set the DIMGAP system variable to a negative value. The offset between the box and the text is the absolute value of DIMGAP.
