Working with Tabs and Tab Sets
Tabs on the right side of the Content Explorer help you choose folders and blocks quickly. Two tabs are always available:
- The Current Dwg tab lists the blocks in the current drawing.
- The Tree View tab, when the Tree View area is expanded, lists drawings in the currently selected folder or blocks in the currently selected drawing.
You can create additional tabs as shortcuts to file folders. Once you create additional tabs, save them for future use in a tab set. You can also
- Change the order in which the tabs are displayed by dragging them.
- Rename or delete an existing tab.
- Delete all currently loaded tabs except Current Dwg and Tree View.
- Retrieve a saved set of tabs appropriate for a particular task.
- Merge saved tab sets together.
- Suppress loading the default tab set when creating a new drawing or opening an existing drawing that lacks a tab set.
Tabs are also convenient for moving drawing files between folders. You can drag and drop any drawing file from the current tab to another tab.
Controlling the Default Tab Set
A default tab set is displayed in Content Explorer under two conditions:
- When you create a new drawing.
- When you open an existing drawing that was saved without an associated tab set.
The default tab set that you selected when installing AutoCAD LT is stored as aclt.set for drawings with English (imperial) settings and acltiso.set for drawings with metric settings.
You can change the default tab set by opening the desired tab set and saving it as aclt.set or acltiso.set.
