RECOVER Command

Repairs a damaged drawing

File menu: Drawing Utilities > Recover
Command line: recover

The Select File dialog box is displayed.


Enter or select the name of the damaged drawing file. AutoCAD LT begins the drawing recovery and displays the results on the text screen.

If AutoCAD LT determines that a drawing you're opening is damaged based on the drawing's header information, the OPEN command performs an automatic recovery.

Repairs damaged drawing files.

File Name

Select or enter the name of the damaged drawing file you want to recover.

Files of Type

Select the type of files you want to see in the File Name box.

Look in

Select the drive and directory that contain the damaged file you want to recover.

Open as Read-Only

Open the selected file as read-only.

Find File...

To find the damaged files you want to recover on multiple drives and directories, choose Find File.
