Reusing a Plot Configuration

For complex configurations with numerous pen assignments, using an existing complete plot configuration file can save time. You can create plot configurations for different drawings, for each available plotter, or for plotting the same drawing on the same plotter in different ways. By including complete plot configuration (PC2) files with drawing files that you send to another site, you can save other users the time it would take to set up a detailed plot configuration. You can also save PC2 files for batch plotting with AutoCAD.

You can save up to 29 plotter configurations in the aclt4.cfg file. This file can contain configurations for 29 different plotters, 29 configurations for a single plotter, or any combination of the two.

If you need more than 29 configurations, you can save an unlimited number of complete plot configuration (PC2) files. PC2 files contain device-independent and device-dependent parts of a single plot configuration.

When you use a PC2 file, it replaces the current default plot configuration. If you plan to load a PC2 file from the Device and Default Selection dialog box, and you want to preserve the current default configuration, save it in another PC2 file before loading the new PC2 file. When you plot, you can choose the PC2 file you need.

Partial plot configuration (PCP) files can be used for exchanging device-independent plot configuration information with users of AutoCAD LT for Windows 95 (and AutoCAD Release 13). PCP files can be used to merge pen parameters and device-independent settings from one device to another, similar devices configuration.
