Configuring Plotters and Printers

AutoCAD LT supports many plotters and printers for producing output of your drawings as hard copy. In addition, you can output to files in a variety of formats. This topic provides basic printer and plotter configuration information.

Before you can use a plotter or a printer, you must add it to the list of configured printers. Each plotter or printer has several configuration settings, which you can easily modify. You can also change configurations to use a different plotter or printer, and you can configure a plotter for use over a network.

AutoCAD LT uses ADI (Autodesk Device Interface) drivers to communicate with printing and plotting devices. These drivers fall into three categories: file format drivers, nonsystem drivers, and the system printer driver.
