POLAR Command
Constrains cursor input to specified angles and radial distances
| Standard toolbar |
| Tools menu: PolarSnap Settings |
 |
Command line: polar |
The Ortho/Polar Settings dialog box is displayed.
With PolarSnap, you can draw or modify objects using specific angle and distance increments without
entering values on the keyboard. When PolarSnap is turned on, you can constrain cursor input of point
locations to angle increments, distance increments, or both angle and distance increments from the last
point. Polar ToolTips display the current angle and distance from the previous point at the cursor location.
Angle increments are relative to the UCS orientation and the grid snap rotation angle.
Ortho/Polar
- On. Turns Orthogonal mode and PolarSnapping on and off.
- Ortho. Selects Orthogonal mode. Cursor input is restricted to either horizontal or vertical locations
relative to the previous point. See ORTHO.
- Polar: Angle Snap. Selects polar angle snap mode. Cursor input is restricted to specific angle
increments from the last point.
- Polar: Distance Snap. Selects polar distance snap mode. Cursor input is restricted to distance
increments from the last point.
- Polar: Angle & Distance Snap. Selects polar angle and polar distance mode. Cursor input is limited
both to angle and distance increments from the last point.
PolarSnap Settings
- Angle. Sets the angle increments for PolarSnap. Saved in the POLARANG system variable.
- Distance. Sets the radial distance increments for PolarSnap. Saved in the
POLARDIST system variable.
- Polar ToolTip. Controls whether polar ToolTips are displayed when the cursor stops moving. Saved
in the registry with POLARSTYLE.
