You can easily edit linked or embedded OLE objects by double-clicking the object. This opens the server application, where you can make your modifications. The editing operations available depends on whether AutoCAD LT is the server application or the container application.
The document containing a linked AutoCAD LT drawing stores the AutoCAD LT drawing’s file location. You can edit a linked AutoCAD LT drawing either from the container application or in AutoCAD LT. AutoCAD LT must be loaded or accessible on the system along with the document you are editing.
An AutoCAD LT drawing embedded in a document can be edited only from the container application. Editing the original drawing in AutoCAD LT has no effect on documents in which that drawing is embedded.
Clicking inside an OLE object selects it, even when the OLE object is behind an AutoCAD LT object. To select the overlapping AutoCAD LT object, you must suppress the selection of the OLE object from the shortcut menu.
AutoCAD LT editing commands and snap modes do not operate on OLE objects. To resize and scale OLE objects, use OLE grips. You can also cut, copy, edit, or clear an OLE object using the shortcut menu that opens when you select an OLE object using a right-click on your pointing device. Use the shortcut menu also to control the drawing order, display, and selectability of OLE objects.
