LT DWG UPDATE Utility

Converts existing drawing files to the AutoCAD LT 97 format

Use one of the following access methods:

• From the Start menu on the Windows taskbar, choose Programs. Then choose AutoCAD LT 97 > LT DWG Update.
• In the AutoCAD LT 97 folder, double-click LTUpdate.

Note: The LT DWG Update utility must be run from the same folder in which AutoCAD LT 97 is installed.

Drawings to Update

Lists drawing files for batch conversion.

• Add. Displays the Select Drawing Files to Update dialog box. Select drawings to be converted. When you choose Open, the selected files are added to the list.
• Remove. Removes file names from the list of drawings to be converted.

Output Folder

• Overwrite Existing Drawings. Overwrites the existing drawing files in the dialog box list with the converted drawing files. Clear this option to save the converted drawing files in a separate folder and preserve the original drawing files.
• Browse. Displays the Select Output Folder dialog box. Select a drive and folder from the list.

Update Settings

• Block Icons. Controls generation of icon images for block definitions. Choose Create or Update to add or update icon images to all existing block definitions in each drawing file. Choose Do Not Create to skip icon image processing. Choose Remove All to delete all icon images of block definitions in each drawing file.
• Zoom to Extents When Updating. Zooms each drawing to its extents as part of the conversion process. Clear this option to leave the display of each drawing file unchanged.

Update

Begins the conversion process on all selected drawing files.

If you need to interrupt the conversion script, press ESC. To resume the process beginning with the next file on the list, enter resume at the AutoCAD LT Command prompt. If you interrupt the conversion script, conversion may be incomplete on the current file.

Note: The LT DWG Update script will halt if it encounters drawings saved in perspective mode when the Zoom to Extents When Updating option is selected
