Specifying Points to Define a Hatch Boundary

You can define a hatch boundary by specifying points. For example, you might want to show that a large area of a drawing is filled with a pattern by filling only a small section of that area, as shown in the following illustration.

In the illustration, you define an area to be hatched by specifying points directly. The hatch pattern is EARTH, and it is rotated by 45 degrees. You can choose whether to retain the polyline boundary after the hatch is created; here the polyline boundary is not retained.
