Material Conditions

To create geometric tolerances

  1. From the Dimension menu, choose Tolerance.
  2. In the Symbol dialog box, select the required characteristic symbol.
  3. Choose OK to display the Geometric Tolerance dialog box.

    Now add the tolerance values and their modifying symbols.

  4. In the Geometric Tolerance dialog box under Tolerance 1, click the Dia box to insert a diameter symbol (optional).
  5. Under Value, enter the first tolerance value.
  6. Click the MC box to add a material condition (optional).
  7. In the Material Condition dialog box, double-click a material condition symbol to insert it.
  8. In the Geometric Tolerance dialog box, add a second tolerance value (optional) in the same way as the first tolerance value.

    Now add the datum reference letters and their modifying symbols (optional).

  9. In the Geometric Tolerance dialog box under Datum 1, enter the primary datum reference letter.
  10. Click the MC box to insert a material condition symbol for the primary datum reference.
  11. In the Material Condition dialog box, double-click a material condition symbol to insert it.

  12. In the Geometric Tolerance dialog box, add secondary and tertiary datums and modifying symbols in the same way.

    Now add a projected tolerance zone (optional).

  13. In the Geometric Tolerance dialog box, enter a height in the Height box.
  14. Click the Projected Tolerance Zone box to insert the symbol.
  15. In the Datum Identifier box, add a datum value.
  16. Choose OK.
  17. In the drawing, specify a location for the feature control frame.
