Creating and Editing Tools

After you create a toolbar, you add tools that are supplied with AutoCAD LT, or you can create your own by modifying existing tools. Under one tool icon, you can create or modify a set of tools called a flyout. You can customize the appearance of tools to suit your needs.

You use the Toolbars dialog box to add tools to a toolbar from a category and to copy or move tools from one toolbar to another. You can also delete tools.

Changing a Tool's Command

In addition to changing the tool associated with a command, you can change the command associated with a tool.

Creating a Flyout

A flyout is a set of tool icons nested under a single tool icon on a toolbar. Flyout icons have a black triangle. To create a flyout, you create the flyout icon and associate a toolbar with it.

Editing Tool Icons

AutoCAD LT provides standard tool icons to start AutoCAD LT commands. You can create custom icons to run custom macros. You can either modify an existing icon or create your own. AutoCAD LT saves tool icons as BMP files. The BMP files must be saved in a directory that is on the support path.

Creating a Tool

AutoCAD LT commands are organized into categories in the Customize Toolbar dialog box. You can select a category to display a set of icons that represents a group of commands. AutoCAD LT also provides blank tool icons that you can assign to any command or macro.
