Setting Interface Preferences

To customize AutoCAD LT colors

  1. From the Tools menu, choose Preferences.
  2. In the Preferences dialog box, choose the Color tab.

If you have a monochrome display, the Monochrome Vectors box already is selected. You might want to select this option if you have problems displaying elements on a gray-scale monitor.

  3. On the Color tab, select the element you want to change by clicking it in the Graphics Window or Text Window area: graphics window background, text window background, text window text, crosshair color, command window background, or command window text. You also can select an area from the Window Element list.
  4. Under Basic Colors, select the color you want to use. To change the color using the RGB (red, green, blue) colors, drag the slider controls next to R, G, and B or enter a number from 0 through 255 in the box.

The display changes to show how the color will look.

  5. If you want to revert to the colors specified by the Windows Control Panel, choose System Colors.
  6. Choose OK to record the current preference settings in the system registry and close the Preferences dialog box.
