Generally, overlapping objects such as text, wide polylines, and solid-filled polygons are displayed in the order they are created: newly created objects in front of existing objects. Any changes you make to object sorting settings may also affect the default display order of overlapping objects. However, you can change the order in which objects are displayed and printed.
When you first open a drawing, the objects are initially displayed in the order of their creation. To see any changes previously made to the display order, you must regenerate the drawing.
Display order is not automatically preserved in blocks or external references. For drawing files to be inserted as blocks or external references, use WBLOCK to create new drawing files and to make all changes in the display order permanent.
Selecting object sorting for an operation guarantees that newly created objects have display and selection precedence over other previously created objects. Sorting objects may decrease display and selection speed.
