Setting the Current Linetype

To set the linetype for all new objects

1. On the Object Properties toolbar, choose Linetype.
2. If you need to load additional linetypes, choose Load and then select one or more linetypes, and choose OK.

   As you click linetypes, you can use CTRL to select several linetypes or SHIFT to select a range of linetypes.
   

3. In the Layer & Linetype Properties dialog box, select a linetype and select Current.
   
   • If you choose BYLAYER, new objects acquire the linetype of the current layer.
   • If you choose BYBLOCK, new objects are drawn in the default linetype until they are grouped into a block. The objects in the block acquire the current linetype setting.
4. Choose OK.

The Linetype Control displays the current linetype. Alternatively if the linetype is already loaded, you can click the Linetype Control and choose a linetype.
