Using Layers to Manage Complexity

To turn a layer on and off

1. On the Object Properties toolbar, click the Layer control (list box).
2. Click the On/Off icon of the layer name that you want to turn on or off.

If the lightbulb is on, the layer is turned on.

Alternate Procedure

In a drawing with many layers, it is usually faster to change properties of layers in the Layer & Linetype dialog box, where you can use filtering to find the layers you need quickly.

1. On the Object Properties toolbar, choose Layer.
2. In the Layer & Linetype Properties dialog box, click the On/Off icon of the layer that you want to turn on or off.
3. Choose OK.
