Using a Wizard to Create a Drawing Layout
To begin a new drawing using the Advanced Setup wizard
- From the File menu, choose New.
- In the Create New Drawing dialog box, choose Use a Wizard and select Advanced Setup. Then choose OK.
- In the Advanced Setup wizard, choose tabs and change settings as needed. To move on to the next tab, press the Next button or choose the tab directly.
- To specify units, choose the Step 1:Units tab.
-
To specify the angle settings, choose Step 2:Angle, Step 3:Angle Measure, or Step 4:Angle Direction and change the settings.
-
To change the drawing boundary, choose Step 5:Area and enter the full-scale width and height of the object you are drawing. For example, to draw an object that is 10 by 20 feet in size, you might
enter a width of 12 and a height of 22 to account for the size of the object and a margin around it. The drawing boundary controls the area the grid dots are displayed in.
-
To add a title block and border, choose Step 6:Title Block. Change the settings if needed, and choose OK.
-
To select drawing layout options, choose Step 7:Layout.
- When you are finished, choose Done.
By default, AutoCAD LT opens the new drawing with a single floating viewport displayed in paper space on the VIEWPORT layer. If you inserted a title block, AutoCAD LT creates a TITLE_BLOCK layer.
