Creating the Drawing Layout

A plotted drawing can contain a single view of your drawing or a more complex arrangement of views. If you want to create complex multiple-view drawings, AutoCAD LT provides a special drawing environment, known as paper space, that you can use to lay out various components of your drawing, including the annotation. In paper space you can edit the drawing layout without affecting the model.

In paper space, you can create floating viewports that display various views of the drawing. Depending on your needs, you can plot one or more floating viewports or set options that determine what is printed and how the image fits the paper. You can print a drawing without creating a layout in paper space, however, the paper space features give you more control over scaling, clipping views, layer visibility, and annotation.

With a single command, you can add your name, the current date, the current time, and the drawing file name to your drawing.
