Command line: attachurl |
URL by (Area/<Objects>): Enter an option or press ENTER
The ATTACHURL command enables you to attach a URL to objects or areas in your drawing. When you view the DWF file with a Web browser and the WHIP! plug-in you can select the object or area, which will connect you to the Web site identified by the attached URL.
You need to decide when to attach URLs by object or area. For contiguous geometry, attaching by area is most effective. Attaching by area is also effective for placing URLs in places where there is no geometry. In cases where geometry is distributed throughout the drawing, attaching by object is most effective.

Enter URL:Enter a valid URL
For example, entering www.autodesk.com will attach the object to the Autodesk Web site.
When you attach a URL to objects, AutoCAD LT places a rectangular URL area around each object. The URL is attached as xdata (extended data) to objects in the drawing. For each object with a URL attached there is xdata, so when you attach many individual objects to a URL, your AutoCAD LT database will have many bits of xdata attached to each relevant object.
When you attach a URL to an area, AutoCAD LT creates a rectangle around the area you specify and stores the rectangle on a special layer called URLLAYER. Do not delete this layer. For each URL attached there is xdata, just as when you attach a URL to objects, but the xdata is attached as large areas.

Warning: The AutoCAD LT Internet Utilities attach URLs to an area by creating a rectangle on a layer named URLLAYER and then attaching the URL string as xdata. You can destroy the hyperlink information in your drawing if you tamper with URLLAYER. You should not freeze, lock, or change the visibility of URLLAYER; nor should you edit or delete the rectangles on URLLAYER or attach URLs to them using the ATTACHURL command. If you turn off the visibility of URLLAYER for normal viewing of your drawing, it should be turned back on before using the DWFOUT command.
