Scramble missions will contain some of the most intense action you will encounter in Total Air War. Flying these missions is a very effective way to thwart enemy attacks on your territory and gain valuable points towards your promotion. The Scramble missions on offer depend on your rank: the higher your rank, the more targets you will be given to dispose of. When your side is on the defensive, or the enemy is attacking some of your more valued assets, Scramble missions can be the quickest and most effective way to defend your airspace. Keeping an eye on the War Room map is always a good idea. Here we can see at least six enemy strike missions approaching to the north of our main defenses. This could amount to 96 enemy aircraft in all. The enemy's current strategy is to attack our Airbases, we haven't got time to vector CAPs from the AWACS - we need to act fast... Pressing the Scramble button will volunteer you from these missions. In a Total Air War Campaign it won't be long before you are needed. Here you can see a possible Scramble mission. You only have two target flights, but there is ample opportunity to re-arm, refuel and take out more of the aggressors. If you look to the north there are even more flights approaching. It would be well worth considering a stint in the AWACS after a couple of Scramble missions. This fight is going to go on for quite a time, our defenses are going to be at full stretch....
