What Is Isaac?

Isaac creates animations and interactive objects to be used in web pages. Those creations will be rendered by a Java applet, compatible with all browsers on all system, with few exceptions that don't reach 1% of web visitors.

With Isaac you don't have to write even a single line of code: all you have to do is to import images, cut them if needed and position them on the work area. Then you set links, create frames and movements and export your work to an HTML file. That's all.

To use Isaac at its best, you should be able to make images with any image editor. Some examples are Adobe Photoshop, iGrafx Image, Jasc Paint Shop Pro, Macromedia Fireworks and so on. Once you have created one or more images containing the elements that you want to display, you can import them into Isaac and manipulate them in many ways to achieve the best result. Alternatively, you can use the clip art provided with Isaac.

Usually webmasters use JavaScript to obtain rollover effects and interactive pages. Look at this comparison and read about similarities and differences between JavaScript and Isaac.

Isaac offers you few tools, because the philosophy of this program is to be simple: once you have learned the most important features of the program, you are ready to start.

Look at the gallery to see some examples of what Isaac can do.

Isaac has been written some years ago using Java 1.0; this means that the applet is compatible with any Java-enabled browser and that the program should run with any Java Virtual Machine.

The program has been compiled with Microsoft SDK 4.0.

Java is a technology provided by Sun Microsystems.
