Help Turning "On" Java

First, make sure you are using a Java-enabled browser such as:

  • Netscape Navigator (3.0 or later), or
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer (3.0 or later).
  • Next, if you are using a Macintosh, make sure your browser has enough memory allocated to run Java.

  • Using Netscape Navigator (Macintosh version), set the preferred application size to at least 14,000K (14 MB).
  • Using Microsoft Internet Explorer (Macintosh version), set the preferred application size to at least 8,000K (8 MB).
  • Finally, make sure you've enabled Java in the browser:
  • Using Netscape Navigator, open the "Network Preference" dialog box under the "Options" menu. Check the box labeled "Enable Java."
  • Using Microsoft Internet Explorer, open the "Preferences" dialog box under the "Edit" menu and select the "Web Content" tab. Check the box labeled "Java."
