Menus and Toolbars
This section of the help discusses using 20/20's menus and toolbars. For information on each menu item and it's associated toolbar button, see the Menu Reference. Figure 1.
Navigating 20/20's options and commands are made easy by using it's menus and toolbars. Commonly used menu items will have an associated toolbar button. 20/20's Menu consists of eight main menus:
Menu | Description |
File | Commands to open, re-open, print, and save images. |
Edit | Commands to copy and paste images to/from the clipboard. |
View | Commands to zoom images and control the appearance of toolbars |
Capture | Commands that control the capture features |
Image | Commands that control changing images |
Tools | Allows you to select the current image tool |
Style | Commands that let you select the style of the selected annotation tool |
Help | Commands that access the help and sponsors. |
You may choose to hide the menu bar by selecting "View|Menu Bar." When this option is selected, the menu bar is hidden. To restore the menu bar, simply click on the 20/20 icon in the upper left hand corner of the window and select "Show Menu" from the system menu.
20/20's tool bars may be individually viewed and positioned. 20/20 automatically saves the current state of the toolbars when it exits. The next time you start 20/20, it's tool bars are automatically restored for you.
Tool bars may be "docked" on any of 20/20's edges. To move a tool bar from the top to the bottom, grab the toolbar by it's handle (two lines at the left or top of the tool bar), and drag it to it's new location. If you "let go" before placing it over a docking area, the toolbar will appear as a single window, that remains on top of 20/20.
Currently, there are six toolbars:
Main Tool Bar
Capture Tool Bar
Tools Tool Bar
Effects Tool Bar
Style Tool Bar
Color Tool Bar
For a description of a particular tool bar button, simply click on the button.
