Capturing Images

One of 20/20's capabilities is to capture images.  This feature is particularly useful for creating documentation.  (If fact, all of the screen shot's in this help file were created using 20/20.)

With 20/20 you can capture the active window, the active window's client area, a user selected child window, a user selected area of the screen, or the entire contents of the desktop.  You can also have 20/20 capture areas of a window that have been scrolled out of view, which is great for capturing web pages within a browser.

For information on setting up the capture options in the Preferences dialog, click here.

Capturing An Image
Capturing an image with 20/20 is as simple as pressing a key. The capture key that is.  The key combination you use to capture an image is set up on the Capture tab of the Preferences dialog.  Then, based on the "Target" you specified to capture, 20/20 captures the image.  With 20/20 you have four target choices which can be selected on the Capture menu or by clicking the appropriate Target speed button.  Your target choices are:

Target

Capturing Web Pages
In order to capture a web page, the Target must be set to "Selected", and the "Captured Scrolled" must be set.  Press the capture key, point to the area of the window that contains the page you want to capture and then click the left mouse button.  If you are using Netscape as your browser, you will need to first scroll to the top of the page before capturing.
