According to the Guinness Book of World Records, 1976 Edition, Peter G. Dowdeswell of Earl's Barton, Northamptonshire, England, broke the following beer-drinking records in 1975: 2 1/2-pint yard of ale in 5 seconds on May 4; 3-pint yard of ale in 6.5 seconds on May 4; 2 pints (40 fl. oz.) in 3.3 seconds on February 23 and 2.3 seconds on June 11.
