Mark Place, South Wind Design VP claims IDSMail prevented "loss of market leadership"
Mark Place, VP of Research and Development at South Wind Design had to figure out how he was going to meet his product release deadline. "We needed to quickly add Internet E-mail to our Delphi diagnostic application (SupportablilityTM ) but we didn't have the time to learn the protocol." Place decided to use the IDSMail universal E-Mail component to add internet E-Mail to SupportabilityTM. "Mail-enabling our application came off without a hitch."IDSMail provided more than just internet E-Mail connectivity. Place explains that "with IDSMail our application included greater functionality than originally anticipated." Now SupportabilityTM not only works with SMTP/POP3, but it also supports VIM, MAPI, MHS and Banyan VINES protocols. According to Place, South Wind Design met their goal "with IDSMail our application was completed on time."
When a product release date slips there is more at stake then incremental sales, market share is also at stake. "Without IDSMail, our development and release schedule would have been further delayed, resulting in loss of market leadership and all that it entails." explains Place.
