Input Pro has eight controls - six of the eight controls, fpCurrency, fpDateTime, fpDoubleSingle, fpLongInteger, fpMask, and fpText, are considered formatted edit controls. Formatted edit controls let the user type data and then provide some kind of validation on the data, based on your property settings and the data formatting. The controls also accept data provided in code, returned from a database, or pasted from the Clipboard. These controls share many common characteristics that are specific to formatted edit controls. Available as 32Bit ActiveX, 16Bit VBX and 16&32Bit DLL.
You can customise some common features for all the Input Pro controls. For example, all the controls can display a three-dimensional frame and border. The inner and outer three-dimensional borders are made up of highlight and shadow portions. The frame represents the space between the inner and outer borders. In addition, you can display and specify the colour and width of the control's surrounding outline border. You can also customise other control features, such as providing three-dimensional text and specifying how controls appear when they receive the focus. Also, all controls can display a drop shadow.
The other two controls, fpBoolean and fpMemo, offer unique features that are described below :
The fpBoolean control can represent two or three values, making it a two- or three-state control. Two-state controls display values such as "yes" and "no" or "true" and "false." Three-state controls also display a third value, "grayed." The grayed state represents an indeterminate setting. For example, if selected text contains some boldface text, the Bold setting can be displayed as grayed to show that some text is bold and some is not.
The fpMemo control can contain and display large amounts of text data, even amounts in excess of 64 kilobytes (65,536 characters). However, the number of characters the fpMemo control can hold is limited by the memory of the user's computer.
