MemCheck for Windows

An Automatic Reliability & Debugging Tool for C & C++

MemCheck for Windows is an automatic runtime debugger that operates invisibly to pinpoint bugs by exact source file and line number. When linked into projects, MemCheck detects Windows API parameter errors; invalid usage or leakage of Windows handles, GDI objects, and resources; memory overwrites, underwrites, memory leaks, heap corruption, stack overwrites, out-of-memory conditions, and double-frees. MemCheck detects errors even in third-party libraries (no source required), produces a stack trace on GPF, and can check multiple DLLs or EXEs simultaneously. MemCheck does not require any source code changes. Users can configure or unconfigure projects in minutes with new wizards and tools. A control panel makes it simple to turn MemCheck on or off at runtime. MemCheck runs 10-300 times faster than similar debuggers, and is compatible with conventional debuggers like WinScope and CodeView. MemCheck is royalty-free; users may leave MemCheck linked in for use on testers' machines or at remote sites. MemCheck has a minimal impact on application size, because it does not require debugging information. When the testing period is over, MemCheck is linked via a "production" library, or else compiled out.

MemCheck 5.0 for Windows (32-bit) Supported compilers: Microsoft C/C++ (VC++ 4.x and later) Borland C/C++ (5.x and later)

MemCheck 3.51 for Windows 16-bit Supported compilers: Microsoft C/C++ (7.x-8.x, VC++ 1.5) Borland C/C++ (3.x-5.x and later)
