Step 1 - Create a separate image folder |
Ideally, you may want to create a seperate folder for the files to be renamed. |
Step 2 - Open the Batch Rename dialog |
Choose File > Batch > Rename. |

Step 3 - Open folder containing the images |
In the Batch Rename dialog, navigate to the folder (from Step 1) containing the images. |

Step 4 - Set rename options |
Click Modify. In the Modify dialog, choose your rename options. For example, choose Custom Text, click Add, and then enter the new root filename text in the Custom Text field. You might then want to choose Sequence, and then click Add. This will append sequential numbering to each file. You'll see an example filename at the bottom of the Modify dialog. Click OK to return to the Batch Rename dialog. |

Step 5 - Click Select All |
To launch the renaming process, click Select All. A progress meter will briefly appear. |

Step 6 - Verify the new filenames |
Browse to the image folder to verify the new filenames. |
