Dialog Button
Inserting images in your webpage
using the Image dialog is cool. Just hit the button above,
choose what drive and folder your image is in, and then pick
your image from the list. The Default Folder this opens into
is ..\Graphics\buttons, subsequent openings of the image dialog
opens it to the last folder you were in the last time. You can
change the default folder in Preferences
to whichever folder suits your needs.
After you have picked your image
you may want some other information included with your image.
You can now place your ALT= text in the appropriate space.
(This is that little tag that pops up when people touch your
image, or what shows up on the webpage if the images are turned
off.) Some audio tools for the visually impaired also use the
ALT= text to describe the image.
You can now also define the BORDER
thickness. Zero is the most common, and this is used for linking
your image to another site or page. Any numbers above zero will
be the size of the border that surrounds your image when it
is a link... choose zero and there is no box.
Speaking of LINKS, this
of course is the next space to fill out if you choose to do
so. This will make your image a link to another page or site
by placing the appropriate URL in this space. You can also use
the drop down box to look at the last pages you have linked
to and use them as links to make it even quicker.
Now just hit Cool and this information
will be placed in your new or existing webpage that you have
open in the work space.
This is an example of what the
HTML would look like without the link:
<img src="yourimage.gif"
width="150" height="100" alt="This is your text" border="0">
Adding Images
from your Hard Drive
You can Also DRAG
and DROP image locations from the left pane directly to
your open page.
Watch the size of your images
!
Your total size for images should
not exceed 50K for each page you create. If it takes to long
to load, visitors may hit the Back button and never see your
site.
