FTP - Uploading and Downloading Files

 Expresso FTP Button

For quickly uploading files, see the Uploading Topic. Now you can Upload and Download files from the Internet with our very own Expresso FTP. But before you can do this make sure you have the following:

  • Internet Server (www.myserver.com)
  • Server ID (your user ID)
  • Server Password (your user Password)

Once you've got all these items you are now ready to FTP. Click on the FTP Upload and Download Icon under the Tools menu. When the program opens click on the CONNECT button (the one that looks like a lightening bolt). Put in your User ID, Password, and Server. Nevermind the PORT number, unless you have a specific one. Also disregard the REMOTE HOST entry box. (This will be filled in automatically upon logging on to your server.) Expresso FTP also allows you to keep multiple server profiles, so keeping track of your many websites is now a snap.

Once logged in you will be shown a listing of your Hard Drive on the left side and the server directory on the right side. You can start by highlighting a file on the left side and then clicking on the UPLOAD button. You can also Drag and Drop files to and from your server!
