Stand Alone Apps Gear Button

The button you see here are is the Stand Alone Application button. This button drops down a list of applications. They come in very handy when you are multi-tasking on your computer. The purpose of them is to provide shortcuts to your favorite programs already on your computer. All five of the Stand Alone Application buttons can be changed to reflect programs you choose. For example, you can make one your favorite card game, another your favorite image editing tool.

How to Configure the Custom Applications

Configure the buttons to go to programs you find most useful when writing web pages. Choose wisely, you only have five positions for Stand Alone Applications.

Start by clicking the drop down menu TOOLS.

Then click on PREFERENCES.

A Box will then appear, select Applications:

Here you can change any or all five of the applications by clicking on its folder, finding the .exe file of the program you want, and clicking [OK]. The path of the program will show up under Application, the Description needs to be filled in by you. The Description is what pops up when you click on the custom applications button.
