Getting Started with CYBERsitter

After the setup program completes:
Open CYBERsitter… a rainbow colored Icon has been installed in the
system tray (area where time is displayed). Double click on this icon and the CYBERsitter
Control Panel will open.
If you purchased CYBERsitter… You will need to complete the
registration process. In the CYBERsitter Control Panel, click on the Register
tab and enter the information in the form provided. Your name must match
EXACTLY with the name you used when you ordered CYBERsitter.
Click on the
"Register" button and enter your then Serial number that you were
issued. When you placed your order, a unique serial number was generated for
you and sent to you by return e-mail. You will need this serial number to
complete the registration and fully activate CYBERsitter.
BE SURE TO RETAIN
THE SERIAL NUMBER AS IT WILL BE NECESSARY IF YOU EVER NEED TO REINSTALL
CYBERsitter 2000 OR NEED TO CONTACT OUR SUPPORT DEPARTMENT. Your serial number is also displayed on the “Info”
tab after registration.
Set up your CYBERsitter password… After
registering, you will be able to enter a password into CYBERsitter to protect
the interface from access. To enter a password, choose the Security tab. Enter
the password you wish in the first box and then Tab to the next box and enter
the exact same password. Now click the Apply button to confirm entry. The
password feature is NOT available until you have purchased and registered
CYBERsitter.
Select the filters you want to use… Start
your Internet software to get online - once online, access the CYBERsitter
Control Panel and click on the “Filters” tab and this will allow you to select
the filter files that you want to use with CYBERsitter. You should update the
filter files for CYBERsitter to ensure that you have the most current data.
Press the Update Filters button and start the filter update. After the filter
update is complete, you will need to clear the cache/temporary Internet folder
of you browser(s) being used.
Documentation and help… Context sensitive
Help is available at the bottom of each screen for additional program
information. All documentation is contained in the Help file. We also recommend
you read the Frequently Asked Questions available on the Table of
Contents page in the help file.
Closing CYBERsitter… When leaving
CYBERsitter 2000, use the Close button and the Icon will stay in the system
tray, if you use the “X” button on the caption bar of the program to close
CYBERsitter, the Icon for CYBERsitter 2000 will not appear in the system tray
until you restart your computer.
Clear your browsers cache
or temporary internet files…
Netscape and Internet Explorer use separate cache files for saving prior site
visit information so your browser can quickly load recent pages. These files
are stored on your local hard disk. The cache for each will need to be cleared
separately. You do not need to be on-line to do this.
Clearing the Netscape Cache… Open
Netscape, and on the Menu bar choose Edit, then Preferences, then Advanced,
then Cache, click on "Clear disk cache", then OK, and OK and you have
cleared the disk cache for Netscape.
Clearing Internet Explorer 4.x Temporary Internet Files… Open Internet Explorer - on the Menu bar(starts with
File) choose View, then Internet Option, choose the General tab, in the section
Temporary Internet files click on "Delete files", then OK, and OK and
you have cleared the cache for Internet Explorer.
Clearing Internet
Explorer 5.x Temporary Internet Files… Open Internet Explorer - on the Menu bar(starts with File) choose Tools,
then Internet Option, choose the General tab, in the section Temporary Internet
files click on "Delete files", then OK, and OK and you have cleared
the cache for Internet Explorer.
Clearing IE cache from
the Windows Control Panel (all versions)… An alternate method for clearing the Temporary Internet file cache for
Internet Explorer. Click Start, Settings, Control panel, then look for the
Internet or Internet Options application and double click. Upon opening choose
the General tab, in the section Temporary Internet files, press Delete Files
button,
then OK when done then press
OK and close the windows the cache for Internet Explorer has been cleared.
Uninstalling CYBERsitter… Important!
CYBERsitter cannot be uninstalled from the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel
Applet, nor can it be uninstalled using a third party utility. You must use the
built in Uninstall feature on the “Tools” tab page from within CYBERsitter
itself.
