NetGuide
April 2004
Welcome to this
month's edition of the NetGuide CD. This CD is designed to save
you the time and expense of going to Web sites and downloading software.
We've got sections for both PC and Mac users. Before using this
CD please read the terms and conditions.
Installing
Programs
You should be able to install all the programs on the
CD directly onto your computer when you click on the "Install
Now" link. Then select Run or Open.
Very occasionally
you may find that a program has been compressed - which means it
has been reduced in size so that it will fit on the CD. To install
such a file you will need to decompress it first.
To do this you
will need a program called WinZip (if you use Windows)
or StuffIt (if you use a Mac).If you don't have those programs,
you'll find
them on the CD.
Windows
users can click here to install Winzip now
(select 'Run' or 'Open' from the dialog that appears).
Apple
Mac user click here to install Stuffit now.
(Double-click the file 'StuffIt Lite 6.5.1 Install')
Please
read our Help page for full details
On every CD
we will offer Featured Software from
the latest issue of NetGuide magazine. This is software related
to our main feature story for that month. Essential
Tools will offer the latest versions of Web Browsers, Media
Players and other programs your PC can't do without, while Goodies
will contain any other programs mentioned in the magazine and any
extra treats we thought worthwhile adding. Games
will offer the latest game demos.
If you have
any trouble using the CD check out the Help
page.
We recommend
using Microsoft Internet Explorer to view these pages. If you do
not have this program installed you will usually find the latest
version in our Essential Tools
(space permitting). If you prefer to use a different browser (such
as Netscape) please see the Help page.
